This is a collection of the best works by Andrey Kasay, a Russian visual artist based in Moscow, by the summer of 2019. His metaphoric, surreal and crazy illustrations and animated videos are based on a satiric look at contemporary society. Since 2010 he took part in various group exhibitions and had solo shows in Europe, Asia, North and South America. It is not talking about the origin of this book, because this book, infinite, varied, diverse, always similar and always different, perpetual and changing, has existed from all eternity. Nothing has been discovered, everything has been found. But in the heart of this artifact everything changes, everything is transformed, everything evolves. I laugh to see myself so beautiful in this mirror is a collection of four zines inside of a box.

The first three zines are experiments where the author explores the possibilities of the comic language using the cut-up technique and the Tintin comics as a mixing board. The last one is an interview with the author.

This series of zines are part of his Ph.D. in LUCA Ghent, where he researches the comic language.

As an excerpt as well as a continuation of her show “No habrá servicio los domingos ni en el cumpleaños de la Reina Victoria” at the Academy of Media Art Cologne (2016), Nieves de la Fuente Gutiérrez collages landscape photography, mars rover selfies and screenshots of game engine generated images, blurring the distinctions of their physical and digital origins, addressing the materiality of virtuality. Superimposed by text fragments on the anthropology of precious metals and the ethics of terraforming mars, fictional and nonfictional merge into a state of immediate fuzziness, questioning perceptions as well as the possibilities to communicate within contemporary imagery and content.

Nieves de la Fuente Gutiérrez, born 1988, lives and works in Cologne and Madrid.

Blank Books is a tribute to Ulises Carrión

This project by Iván Nespereira (Ourense, 1978) for Alauda Negra, “Bloque” is the seed of a major work based on his interest in our relationship with Stone as an element that has different interpretations and forms.  This publication provokes an imaxinary with a density of flux (proper or appropriate) in this game of dualisms and summons our gaze to penetrate the surfaces and ideas through the stone.

Trabajamos junto a él recopilando algunas de sus gráficas más representativas y desarrollando nuevos letterings para expresiones populares chilenas que fueron traducidas al inglés de manera literal con la ayuda de Google Translate. Editado y presentado especialmente para Los Angeles Art Book Fair 2017, Geffen Contemporary at MOCA (The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles)

Zine format publication printed in risography that presents a collection of calligraphic works by the Los Angeles-based Chilean artist, Bryan Yonki. We worked together with him compiling some of his most representative graphics and developing new letterings for popular Chilean expressions that were translated into English in a literal way with the help of Google Translate. “I´m a Landscape Photographer” representa un portfolio de imágenes de paisajes en un momento donde no podemos hacer imágenes de paisajes. ¿Qué es un paisaje? Sobre idílicos escenarios de playas, ríos, valles o volcanes en un videojuego de finales de los dosmil emulado en mi ordenador he dado un paseo virtual por varios lugares de ensueño que nunca podré visitar. Cuando por circunstancias personales el fotógrafo Agus Bres se vio obligado a volver a vivir en la casa familiar inició una investigación visual sobre su entorno cercano. Su estrategia fue mirar a los paisajes de su infancia y juventud casi con los ojos de un forastero y combinar esas imágenes con fragmentos de su vida pasada, objetos encontrados por el camino y la misma tierra que conforma esos lugares.

El resultado es ‘tierra’, una publicación de 36 páginas que transita entre lo poético y lo descarnado. Un artefacto visual en el que indaga sobre conceptos como la construcción de la identidad y nuestra relación con lo cotidiano cuando lo miramos con otros ojos.

“tierra” es la primera publicación de Varios Fuegos Pequeños.

Varios Fuegos Pequeños no es una editorial ni un colectivo, pero edita publicaciones de fotografía y es un grupo de fotógrafos.

Iniciado por los fotógrafos murcianos Gustavo Alemán, Agus Bres y Amelia García, que a su labor fotográfica añaden experiencia en la gestión, la formación y la edición, pretende convertirse en una red de autores periféricos que desarrollen proyectos y acciones fotográficas diversas. Modestia, sostenibilidad y la creación de lazos entre iniciativas fotográficas de extrarradio son algunas de sus señas de identidad.
